BYOBag Week – Day 2

Did you know that New Yorkers use 5.2 BILLION plastic carryout bags (100,000 tons of plastic waste) every year? That’s equal to 624 bags per New Yorker.

It costs the city $10 million just to dispose of plastic carryout bag trash every year. What a waste (pun intended).

This week is your chance to make a difference. 

By bringing your own bag this week, you can reduce bag waste, raise awareness about the single-use bag issue and show your support for legislation to help solve the problem.
